I almost always shoot in Raw file format and I love post-processing in my digital darkroom. But this can also be a very time-consuming process. Especially when you want to examine all kinds of variations in order to get the most out of your photos. Sometimes I choose to shoot in jpeg only and be content with what comes straight out of the camera.
On a No Raw Day I also decide not to shoot endless variations. No, not just one more composition or a different depth of field. I just simply look for a composition and it’s a matter of: shoot and walk! It gives a remarkable feeling of freedom and spontaneity.
This is a selection from a No Raw Day series I shot in Utrecht. Camera set to jpeg, black and white with high contrast.
